この「タイム・ウェイツ ジ・アメイジング・バド・パウエル Vol.4」、バド・パウエルのブルーノート作品中、比較的地味な印象がある作品です。
聴かない理由は、フィリー・ジョー・ジョーンズ（Philly Joe Jones）の派手過ぎるドラム。
あのパワフルなドラムが五月蝿すぎ、パウエルの雰囲気で聴かせるピアノに集中出来ないからなあ。
パウエル自身もそう感じていたらしく、次作の大人気盤「The Scene Changes / The Amazing Bud Powell Vol.5」
の録音では、ドラマーのアート・テイラー（Art Taylor）に「シンバル禁止！」、「ブラシだけで演奏しろ！」と、言ったとか言わないとか・・・・。
